Sennaya-Sadovaya, crossing
The transition between the stations Sennaya Ploshchad and Sadovaya is the oldest at this interchange, and its shape seems to hint that the transition to the station Spasskaya also suggests itself in its middle part. I don't know if that was the plan or not.
Let's start from the side of the station Sadovaya - because the hermetic door here is located right on the border of the station hall. As can be clearly seen, it is vertical, like a "guillotine".
Interestingly, at the bottom near the escalators, the remains of the old, original lamps are visible on the walls, while the new ones are placed above.
Perceiving the escalator as a kind of watershed, let's move to the second end of the transition, to the station Sennaya Ploshchad. Here the transition begins as a wide staircase in the middle of the station hall.
Interestingly, there used to be a newsstand right at the end of the stairs, but now, thank Heaven, it has been removed, and the passage through the hall has become freer.
So today the only landmark of the transition in the station hall is the wind rose on the floor.
The staircase is quite an acceptable slope, here the architects worked as they should.
The wide corridor at the top of the stairs contains many ventilation windows in a single stylization of the station Sennaya Ploshchad.
Air conditioning of office premises is also brought here. In summer, in the heat and stuffiness, it is perceived as a mockery.
The angle of the floor rise in the aisle is also not very comfortable, but due to the large width it is perceived acceptably - unlike the terrifying Sennaya-Spasskaya, crossing. The staircase, as it should be, is marked with a warning.
And here is the newsstand - it has moved, probably, to the most successful place, to the break in the corridor. I assume that it was from this place that the corridor should have gone further to the station Spasskaya. It would be logical in every sense.
Now you can see that further to the station Sadovaya the corridor is clear. But the historical pictures (on the right) show that the newsstand used to stick out there in the middle of the aisle.
And actually that's it. We reached the very escalator down, at the other end of which is the hermetic door and the huge arch of the station Sadovaya.
