Borovaya (project)

The metro station is designed directly under the tracks of the Vitebsk railway station and is supposed to be a transfer station to the Borovaya railway platform. However, since the station is still being designed, there are fewer visual materials on it.

The name "Borovaya" ("forest"), which is atypical for the city center, comes, like the name of the railway platform, from Borovaya Street. The street is so named because at the time of its construction in 1788 there was a dense pine forest here, and the street itself was originally called Sandy Road. Now it is the center of Saint-Petersburg.
